About Stage Manager

This position pays a $750 flat fee.

The Stage Manager will work with the director to organize behind the scenes for our Dress rehearsal, Sitzprobe and Full-cast performances.

Available Dates Needed are:
Dress Rehearsal Week – June 13th & June 15th
Performances – June 17th (Smithtown), June 24th (Port Washington), June 25th (Commack), + July 1st (Oakdale).
Rehearsal will occur in Nassau County of Long Island, NY.
Performances will occur in Nassau + Suffolk County of Long Island, NY
Stage Manager should have availability to work in this area.

The company operates and rehearses in East Meadow + Merrick in Nassau County primarily.
(Having your own form of transportation will help facilitate this job, but if this is not possible, we will work with you to arrange carpools.)

ABOUT DIRECTING JOBS

The Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island is seeking a Stage Director and Music Director for our 2022/2023 production of “Princess Ida”.

These positions pay a base salary of $2000.

Rehearsals are typically Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 10:00 PM beginning October with Principal Auditions in November.

Performances of piano/principal cast only begin Late April into early May.

Full-orchestra/company performances take place in June through early July.

Interviews will be held Tuesday, August 23rd from 7:00pm-10:00pm EST at East Meadow United Methodist Church, 470 E Meadow Ave, East Meadow, NY, 11554.

Interviews may also be arranged to take place that evening remotely (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet).

COVID-19 Policies

All members of the company will be required to provide proof of vaccination. Masks (provided by the company) will be worn during all rehearsals, and social distancing will be maintained to the extent possible.
