In Memory

As with any group well into its seventh decade, the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island has suffered its share of losses through the years.  Some of the friends and colleagues no longer with us are memorialized in the pages below.

It’s impossible to capture in words what it was like to work with them to bring the Savoy operas to life, let alone what it was like to see them onstage (in the case of performers) or at work (in the case of offstage leaders).

We hope, however, that these essays will help spur memories in those who knew and worked with them, and convey some of the essence of these wonderful personalities to those who arrived too late to do so.
