About Stage Manager

This position pays a flat fee.

The Stage Manager will work with the director to organize behind the scenes for our Dress rehearsal, Sitzprobe and Full-cast performances.

Available Dates Needed are:
Dress Rehearsal Week – 3rd Week of June.
(Sitzprobe on June 18th & Dress Rehearsal on June 20th)
Performances – 3rd and 4th Weekend of June
Stage Manager should have availability to work in Nassau and Suffolk county on Long Island as the GaSLOCoLI is a traveling company.

The company operates and rehearses in East Meadow and Merrick in Nassau County primarily.
(Having your own form of transportation will help facilitate this job, but if this is not possible, we will work with you to arrange carpools.)

ABOUT DIRECTING JOBS

Hiring for 2025/2026 Season. Auditions expected to begin in Fall or Winter or 2025 and Performances Take Place in June/Early July of 2026.

The Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island is seeking a Music Director for our 2025/2026 production.

This position pays a base salary of $2500.
This payment structure WILL vary if Music Director duties are divided into 1. Rehearsal/Piano Accompanist and 2. Conductor as two separate positions employing two separate individuals.

Rehearsals are typically Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 10:00 PM beginning October with Principal Auditions in November.

Performances of piano/principal cast only begin Late April into early May.

Full-orchestra/company performances take place in June through early July.

Interviews will be held by appointment.

Interviews may take place in person or virtually via Zoom.

About Volunteer Positions

Box-Office workers will take money and check virtual tickets prior to performances.

Ushers will distribute programs to attendees prior to performances.

Both positions grant worker free attendance to the show worked.

All members of the company are encouraged to be vaccinated and only attend rehearsals if healthy. Masks maybe worn if you so choose to do so.
