
The Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island is casting all roles for its production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s “The Mikado”.
Our production of the The Mikado has been postponed until further notice.
The Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island will be holding principal auditions for their production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Mikado” by appointment only. We will be doing an updated version of the work set in the 1920’s Gold Coast Long Island. All roles are open. Please prepare one verse of a song or aria in English; G&S preferred.
The company is seeking the following roles as well as ensemble members.
The Mikado– (bass or bass-baritone)
Nanki-Poo– His Son, disguised as a wandering minstrel and in love with Yum-Yum (tenor)
Ko-Ko– The Lord High Executioner of Titipu (comic baritone)
Pooh-Bah– Lord High Everything Else (baritone)
PishTush– A Noble Lord (baritone)
Yum-Yum– A Ward of Ko-Ko, also engaged to Ko-Ko (soprano)
Pitti-Sing– A Ward of Ko-Ko (mezzo-soprano)
Peep-Bo– A Ward of Ko-Ko (soprano or mezzo-soprano)
Katisha– An Elderly lady, in love with Nanki-Poo (contralto)
Audition dates are November 19, 2019 and November 20, 2019 at a location in Nassau County.
